That’s why we created Re-Ink’d. Re-Ink'd is our used book buyback program made for book lovers who are ready to share the stories they’ve loved with other readers, while discovering new favorites.

How It Works

  1. Bring In Your Books


    Stop by the shop with your gently loved popular titles anytime during store hours. We accept newer releases or older favorites, including classics, in great to excellent condition.

  2. We Review & Select


    Our booksellers will carefully review your books to see what fits our shelves. We’re looking for clean, current, and high-quality reads our customers will love! We also take classics, so bring those in, too. We take the book's current popularity and Goodreads ratings into consideration when selecting books.

  3. Earn Store Credit


    For every book we accept, you’ll receive 15% of the book’s full list price in store credit (see below for a few exceptions) to use on anything in-store: new books, special orders, bookmarks, journals, or other Re-Ink’d titles! Our system is unable to use store credit as a payment for gift cards, unfortunately. 

    EXCEPTIONS & THINGS TO KNOW:
  • BOTM titles get a flat credit instead of 15% of retail - see below for BOTM requirements.

 

  • Retail for books with remainder marks will be calculated at 50% of the full retail value. You get 15% of that amount.

 

  • Retail for books with discount tags on the back, such as Half Price Books, will be the price listed on the tag. You will get 15% of that amount.

 

  • We do not take books with stickers on the front other than Target and Barnes & Noble. Other stickers do not come off cleanly.

 

 

 

What We’re Looking For

Every Re-Ink’d book is selected with care to make sure it feels right at home on our shelves. We look for titles that are clean, gently read, and in great shape. They are books we, ourselves, would be excited to read, recommend, or gift.

 

We love:

  • Popular titles - both new favorites and timeless reads
  • We take all the main genres including non-fiction, but popular fiction is our sweet spot!
  • We take kid's books in great condition including board books, picture books, and chapter books.
  • Gently used hardcovers and paperbacks (no stains, rips, writing, or loose pages)
  • Modern, current titles our readers can’t wait to get their hands on or classics that are always in style. We will always take a little older books from beloved authors such as Kristen Hannah.
  • We take current popularity and Goodreads ratings into consideration when selecting books. Our customers frequently refer to Goodreads when making book selections.
  • We are happy to take books that you have previously purchased from us (new or used!) as long as they are still in great to excellent condition

We can’t accept:

  • Textbooks, encyclopedias, library copies, or ARCs (advance reader copies)
  • Books with water damage, tears, or excessive wear
  • Dirty books or old books that have been sitting in the basement, garage, or attic
  • A good rule of thumb: If half Price Books has declined a title, it will not be up to our standards for acceptance either.

 

BOTM, Aardavark, and Other Sub Box Books:

We take branded sub box books, such as BOTM, for a flat $2.25 in store credit.

When selecting sub box books, we are looking for books in excellent to like new condition, so take those books jackets off while reading to keep them pristine!

We will take condition, popularity, Goodreads rating, and what we already have in stock into consideration when selecting sub box books.

Ready to Re-Ink Your Shelf?

Bring your books to Ink & Page Book Boutique during store hours. We can usually go through them while you browse. However, we are a small team, so large amounts may take us a little longer.

If we don’t take all of your titles, you can choose to donate the rest (we will put them on our $5 cart or donate them) or you can take them back home with you. 

FAQ

How much store credit will I get?

You’ll receive 15% of the book’s listed retail value on most books.

BOTM and similar branded books subscriptions will receive a flat $2.25 per book.

Retail for books with remainder marks will be calculated at 50% of the retail price. You will get 15% of that amount in store credit.

Retail for books with discount prices listed, such as Half Price Books, will be calculated at the shown discount price. You will get 15% of that price in store credit.

Books with discount stickers on the front will not be accepted other than Target and B&N. Other stickers do not come off. 

When will I receive my credit?

You’ll receive your store credit once we finish reviewing your books. We can usually go through your books while you wait.

Do I have to spend my credit right away?

Nope! You can use it anytime on new books, preorders, or fill your bookshelf back up with used books. You can even special-order titles we don't have in stock! We will have your credit on file and can look it up at our register anytime.

Can I donate instead of receiving credit?

Absolutely. If you’d rather support our indie bookstore by donating your books, just let us know and we’ll take good care of them. You can also donate any books that we do not accept for store credit. We will either put them on our $5 cart or donate them to a non-profit. 

How many books can I bring at once?

You can bring as many as you like! It may take us a day or two to go through your books if you have a large amount, but we can normally go through them while you browse.
